The Press Photographers Year exhibition

until 30th August 2008 | : Lyttelton Theatre foyer, National Theatre, South Bank,

Mention press photographers and images of flesh-hungry paps clamouring for a grainy shot of celebdom spring to mind. However, photo journalism in it’s true form is an incredibly powerful medium, justly showcased here in the National Theatre in recognition of the immense talent in the midst of the printed media. Taking the work of photographers out of the printed page and into a gallery setting changes the way we read an image, a concept acknowledged and celebrated here for the third year running. No long distance lense intrusion here, just stunning imagery at its best.
