SPACE Now!

13th June 2008 - 26 July 2008 | Space, 129-131 Mare Street, London E8 3RH

Forty years on, founder Bridget Riley returns to East London gallery SPACE with an assortment of artists in this exciting fundraiser and exhibition celebrating four decades of supporting art in the vibrant E8.
Bridget Riley, Peter Sedgley and Peter Townsend founded SPACE in 1968 in reaction to a need for affordable studio space in London, way before the Hoxton fin made it’s way to the East. The show profiles
new work by more than fifty established and up-and-coming artists, and launches a fundraising campaign to keep the mission of SPACE alive for future generations.  The works on show include Turner prize winner Mark Wallinger, and a host of rising stars giving a snapshot of the art scene in London today.
